Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions about Greece, write to us in the "Questions and Answers" section.

What to do in Athens?
Athens offers a great mix of history and the present. Among the sights we recommend are the Acropolis of Athens and its museum, the Ancient Agora with the Temple of Hephaestus and the Stoa of Attalos, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the National Archaeological Museum. Visit the most picturesque district of Plaka with its shops and taverns, Monastiraki Square, Psiri and don't miss the breathtaking panoramic view of Athens from Mount Lycabettus.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
The best time to visit Athens is outside the peak summer season. The ideal time is spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October), when the weather is pleasant for sightseeing.
How to get from the international airport to the center of Athens?
From Athens International Airport, you can get to the city center by metro (Blue Line 3), express bus (line X95) or taxi. Keep in mind that the metro does not run at night from 11:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The bus is the cheapest (around €6), runs non-stop and takes around 60 minutes to Syntagma Square.
How many days do you really need in Athens?
If you don't want to make your visit to Athens a 'marathon race', we recommend spending at least 4 to 6 full days here.
Where can you get a good meal?
Feel free to visit any taverna that offers traditional Greek cuisine. You can usually easily recognize them by the typical traditional Greek wooden chairs.
