About Us

The FotoTravel.info website was created 26 years ago, in 2001.

The inspiration for creating this website came from our first vacation in Greece, on the Greek island of Corfu. We were so captivated by the island’s beauty that we immediately began planning and developing the first version of the website so that we could show you everything this island has to offer, thereby inspiring and promoting tourism in Greece.

We regularly gather information about Greece and the Greek islands and publish it as soon as possible after processing. Here you’ll find not only thousands of photos, but also descriptions of places, links to our videos about Greece, interactive maps of all the places we’ve visited and the hikes we’ve taken, and other interesting information. If you have any questions, you can email us, contact us via Facebook/Messenger, or leave a question in the “Questions & Answers” section. We’ll respond very quickly.

The website focuses exclusively on topics directly related to Greece and the Greek islands. It features galleries of more than 75,000 photos from 3,000 locations throughout Greece and the Greek islands, Cyprus, and Greek monuments in Turkey. We are constantly adding new places and information to the site.

Over the years, we have also collaborated with Czech travel agencies specializing in Greece, such as Venus Trade and Tours (VTT), Melissa Travel, and INEX. We have provided them with photos for their catalogs and websites. After YouTube was launched, we focused on creating detailed video guides that highlight the authentic and natural beauty of Greece, featuring the sounds of nature and breathtaking details.

Later, our son Tomáš Polášek joined the team with his own YouTube channel.

WE DON'T CREATE typical “YouTuber” videos!

Our videos are unique, one-of-a-kind, and unrivaled! The videos we create can be described as documentary-style, aimed at the general public, with a relaxed pace, and an emphasis on the authenticity of Greece’s locations and natural beauty. This is also confirmed by the composition of our audience, which is evenly split between viewers aged 25 and up and seniors.

Each location featured in the video is labeled with a caption, and in our newer videos, it’s also marked on a preview map, which makes it easier to find your way around, improves clarity, and helps with route planning. The videos are not interrupted by narration. Calm and relaxing music, including natural sounds, underscores the peaceful and laid-back atmosphere of Greece. The videos are suitable for any audience; they stand out for their high quality and value, contain a wealth of information, and, according to numerous reviews, “have no competition on YouTube.”

So far, we’ve filmed videos from approximately 50 Greek islands (as well as other countries—Malta, Croatia, and Slovenia), and we have more videos planned. Viewers not only seek inspiration in our videos but also use them to gather information and plan their itineraries for trips around Greece. Others use them to relax during long winter evenings or to reminisce about wonderful vacation experiences. Plus, you can watch our videos on platforms other than YouTube. They are screened in Greek taverns literally all over the world, serve as background entertainment at hotel resorts, and you can also watch them on Greek TV channels or satellite stations.
